Enlisted is a free-to-play WWII multiplayer shooter developed by Gaijin Entertainment. It drops you into massive 150-player battles across iconic fronts — from the Eastern Front to the Pacific. You fight on foot as an infantryman or pilot a tank, plane, or ship. The game is built around squads of up to 12 players, and every match is a coordinated push across a large map with multiple objectives.
Vehicle Classes & Tactics
Enlisted features a wide range of vehicle classes, each with a distinct tactical role:
- Infantry: Riflemen, medics, engineers, and snipers. Infantry holds objectives, clears buildings, and provides close-range support. Medics keep the squad alive; engineers repair vehicles and plant explosives.
- Light Tanks: Fast and lightly armored. Ideal for flanking maneuvers, scouting, and hit-and-run attacks. They can outmaneuver heavier tanks but die quickly in a head-on fight.
- Medium Tanks: The backbone of any squad. Balanced firepower and protection make them versatile — they can hold a position, push forward, or support infantry.
- Heavy Tanks: Slow but devastating. Heavy tanks hold key positions, absorb damage, and provide suppressing fire. They're the anvil that the squad's hammer strikes.
- Aircraft: Fighters and attack planes provide reconnaissance, close air support, and anti-armor capability. A well-timed dive-bomb can turn the tide of a battle.
- Naval Vessels: Destroyers, cruisers, and battleships control waterways and bombard shorelines. Naval fire support can soften enemy positions before an infantry push.
The key to success in Enlisted is combining these classes effectively. A squad with a mix of infantry, medium tanks, and air support can dominate any map. Pure tank squads struggle against infantry in urban areas, and pure infantry squads are vulnerable to armor. Balance is everything.
Squad Mechanics
Enlisted squads go up to 12 players. You can join a pre-made squad before a match, or be auto-assigned by the matchmaking system. Within a squad, a designated leader can call in air support, request repairs, and coordinate pushes. Communication is key — Enlisted supports voice chat, and squads that talk win.
Squad roles are flexible. You can have multiple tank drivers, multiple infantry squads, or a dedicated air support team. The best squads adapt to the map and the enemy's composition. If the enemy has heavy tanks, bring anti-tank infantry. If they're all infantry, bring tanks and air support.
Matchmaking & Player Count
Every match in Enlisted is 150 vs 150. The game uses a skill-based matchmaking system that pairs squads of similar rank. You can play solo (you'll be placed into a squad) or with friends. Matches last 15–25 minutes, and victory goes to the team that captures all objectives or destroys the enemy command.
The free tier includes most vehicles; premium tracks unlock faster progression and exclusive skins. The game is available on PC and consoles.
Getting Started
New to Enlisted? Start with infantry to learn the map and the objectives. Once you're comfortable, try a light tank to get a feel for vehicle combat. Join a squad — even a small one of 3–5 players — and you'll learn faster than playing solo. The community is active, and there are plenty of guides and Discord servers to help you improve.
